Head of Unit

Adu Asante Kofi is a Municipal Cultural Officer and a graduate of Ho Technical University. He is now pursuing MSc. Business Decision Management at Coventry University. He worked with the Centre for National Culture (Volta Region), where he was the Officer in charge of IT. He was then transferred to the Centre for National Cultural (Greater Accra), as the Head of the Marketing department at the Regional Office.

 

He is now on secondment at the La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly as the Municipal Cultural Officer, head of the Cultural unit and the Officer in charge of all cultural activities within the La municipality. He also represents LaDMA in all National and Regional Cultural programs..

Mission

To promote, develop, and preserve the culture of the La Dade-Kotopon municipality.

Vision

To ensure growth and development of the cultural life of the people of La. To contribute to the Nation’s human development and material progress through heritage preservation, conservation, promotion and the use of traditional and modern arts and the crafts to give relevance to the democratic governance and nation building.

Our Functions

  • To promote culture
  • To help establish training centre’s as well as train La Youth in Arts and Crafts.
  • To document cultural programs in the municipality
  • To create awareness of the traditional values of the La municipality
  • To identify and disseminate local knowledge of the environment and support communities to sustain positive traditional concepts and practices to protect nature and bio-diversity for the benefit of the La municipality.
  • To organize culture programs for schools and communities in the municipality.
