Head of Department

Mrs. Emelia Monney has worked with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) since 1991. Her working career spans 24 years. She began her career as an Assistant Agricultural Officer and has risen to the rank of Directorship. Prior to assuming her current position as Municipal Director of Agriculture at La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly, she was with the Horticulture Unit of the Crop Services Directorate.

She holds an MPhil. Certificate in Crop Sciences from the University of Ghana, Legon. Preceding this, she had acquired a First Degree in Bachelor of Science (Agricultural Sciences) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She is a Member of the International Society of Horticultural Scientists (I.S.H.S), and a Fellow of the Ghana Institute of Horticulturists (G.I.H). Mrs. Monney is also a Facilitator to the Ghana Green Label Certification Scheme and ProEcoAfrica, both Non-Governmental Organizations involved in grass-root agricultural development.

What we do.

Agriculture within LaDMA is mainly peri-urban. The Agriculture Department is primarily tasked with the development and sustenance of these agricultural ventures in the areas of: Crop Farming, Livestock Farming and Non-Traditional Agric Enterprises. This we do through the dissemination of academic and technical know-how to our client farmers.
