La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly Elects New Presiding Member

The La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA) has successfully elected a new Presiding Member following a smooth and well-coordinated electoral process held on February 18, 2026.

Hon. Aaron Anang Akrong was elected unanimously, securing all fourteen votes from Assembly Members present. His unanimous endorsement reflects the strong confidence and support he enjoys among members of the Assembly. Following the election, he was officially sworn into office by Adwoa Benaso Asumadu-Sekyi.

In his end-of-term address, the outgoing Presiding Member, Hon. Emmanuel Nyarko Baah, congratulated his successor and expressed gratitude to Assembly Members for their cooperation and support throughout his tenure.

He also highlighted key achievements chalked during his time in office and encouraged members to extend the same level of commitment and collaboration to the newly elected Presiding Member to ensure continuity in the Assembly’s work and development agenda.

The event was attended by key stakeholders, including the Member of Parliament for the La Dade-Kotopon Constituency and Deputy Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Rita Naa Odoley Sowah.

In her remarks, she commended the Assembly for conducting a peaceful and successful election and urged members to support the new Presiding Member in the discharge of his duties.

In his closing remarks, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Alfredos Nii Anyetei, welcomed Hon. Aaron Anang Akrong and pledged his full support to foster effective collaboration between the Assembly and its leadership.

He emphasized the importance of teamwork and unity in advancing the Assembly’s developmental and organizational goals.
