On the bright morning of March 5th, 2025, the La Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly came alive with a burst of colors, textures, and pride as staff members gathered at the forecourt of the Assembly for their annual Traditional Wear Day. The event, organized by the Cultural Department as part of Ghana Month celebrations, was a vibrant display of the nation’s rich cultural diversity, aligned with the government’s “Eat, Wear, See, Drink Ghana” initiative.
Employees arrived dressed in stunning traditional attires representing various ethnic groups across Ghana. The Kente of the Ashanti, the Batakari of the Northern regions, the elegant Kaba and Slit of the Ga and Ewe women, and the intricately woven Smocks of the Upper East—each outfit told a story of heritage, craftsmanship, and identity.
As the event came to a close, the Cultural Director thanked everyone for their participation, emphasizing that such celebrations help “instill cultural appreciation and unity” among the people. Staff members left with smiles, new friendships, and a deeper connection to their roots, already looking forward to next year’s celebration.
