LaDMA Holds Staff Durbar to Enhance Engagement and Align with Policy Direction

The La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA) on Friday, 6th February 2026, organized a Staff Durbar at the forecourt of the Assembly, bringing together management and staff for an interactive engagement session.

The durbar formed part of management’s efforts to strengthen internal communication, promote staff engagement, and prepare the workforce for the implementation of new policies scheduled for later in the year. The primary objective was to brief staff on forthcoming policy directions and administrative reforms, while also providing a platform for personnel from various departments and units to freely express their concerns, challenges, and suggestions directly to the leadership of the Assembly.

The event was well attended and graced by key management and leadership figures, including:

  • The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Alfredos Nii Anyetei
  • The Municipal Deputy Director
  • The Municipal Coordinating Director
  • All Heads of Departments and Units
  • Staff representatives and officers from all departments

Total attendance was estimated at approximately 150 staff members, reflecting strong interest and engagement across the Assembly.

Opening Proceedings

Proceedings commenced at 10:00 a.m. with an opening address by the Municipal Deputy Director, who warmly welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of the durbar as a forum for dialogue, collaboration, and collective problem-solving. This was followed by presentations on policy directions and administrative expectations for the year ahead.

Staff Concerns and Management Response

During the open forum session, staff members from various departments raised several pertinent issues affecting their work and welfare. Key concerns included:

  • Requests from Internally Generated Fund (IGF) staff regarding salary increments and promotion opportunities
  • Welfare-related issues
  • Workload distribution and resource allocation
  • Concerns from cleaning staff about the improper use and maintenance of male washrooms
  • Environmental management practices and the need to strengthen community service delivery

The Municipal Coordinating Director responded to the concerns raised, providing clarifications, assurances, and proposed timelines for addressing the issues where applicable. The interactive session promoted transparency, mutual understanding, and reaffirmed management’s commitment to staff welfare and institutional improvement.
